Installation instruction for gauge glasses

Basically, gauge glasses must be installed in a clean and plane holder between two special KLINGER gaskets. Make sure that the contact surfaces of the apparatus meet the requirements in terms of even surface and are free from sealing residues and dirt.

During assembly, gradually increase the tightening torque up to the torque required. Starting from the centre, tighten the bolts in a cross pattern. To ensure optimum sealing, retighten the bolts after the operating temperature has been reached.

For further information, see also the installation instructions and the current KLINGER product catalogue on gauges.

Attention

  • The permissible glass pressure according to the current KLINGER product catalogue must not be exceeded.
  • Never reuse a glass which has already been installed.
  • Never use old or used gaskets.
  • The contact areas of the glass must not get into contact with metallic surfaces.
  • Always observe the guideline and instructions of the gauge manufacturer.
  • Defects, cracks, and weak points in the glass can lead to leakages, malfunctions, system breakdowns, and even health hazards.
